Privacy Policy for Mutopia
This Privacy Policy applies to Mutopia, an application developed and published under the developer name SkySystem. Mutopia is a privacy-first communication and personal-space app built around trusted connections, private messaging, audio and video calls, local writing and memory tools, on-device AI, downloadable reading content and private workspaces.
1. Privacy Approach
Mutopia is designed to keep personal content on the user’s device whenever practical. Local notes, contact customizations, compositions and supported AI processing remain on the device unless the user chooses to communicate, share content, download resources, make a purchase or use another feature that requires a network connection.
Mutopia does not require a telephone number or email address to use its core trusted-connection features. The app may create a random, app-generated identifier so devices can pair and communicate. This identifier is not intended to be an IMEI, SIM serial number, advertising ID or other permanent hardware identifier.
2. Information Accessed or Processed on the Device
Depending on the features selected by the user, Mutopia may access or process the following information locally:
- Compositions, notes, memories, drafts, app preferences and other user-created content.
- Contact aliases, contact notes, selected contact images, card backgrounds and visual preferences created inside Mutopia.
- Microphone audio used for audio or video calls, voice rooms, speech-to-text and other voice features.
- Camera video used when the user starts a video call, and camera images used when the user chooses to scan a Mutopia QR code.
- Photos, images, files and documents selected by the user through the system picker for attachment, display or sharing.
- Downloaded AI models, books, audio, reading content and other optional app resources.
- On-device AI prompts, responses and reflections used by supported local AI features.
- Local call history, trusted-contact information, app-generated identifiers and app settings.
Information processed only on the device is not sent to SkySystem unless the user initiates a network feature, shares the information, requests support or otherwise chooses an action that requires transmission.
3. Information Transmitted or Collected
Mutopia may transmit or process the following limited information off the device when required to provide a selected feature:
- A random app-generated user or device identifier used for pairing, signaling, presence and trusted-device communication.
- Optional display information that the user chooses to provide or share, such as a display name or profile image.
- Signaling and connection data, including caller and recipient identifiers, session identifiers, timestamps, call state, presence state and SDP/ICE connection information.
- Messages, images, files, audio or video intentionally sent to another participant. The intended recipient receives content that the user chooses to send.
- Network and technical information generated when connecting to a service or downloading content, which may include IP address, request time, app version, operating-system information and server logs.
- Purchase and entitlement information processed through Google Play, such as the selected product, transaction status and purchase token. SkySystem does not receive the user’s complete payment-card details from Google Play.
- Information voluntarily included in an email or other request sent to customer support.
SkySystem does not use private messages, call content, local memories, compositions or on-device AI conversations to create advertising profiles or to sell user data.
4. Device Permissions
Mutopia requests device permissions only when they are needed for a feature. These may include:
- Microphone: for calls, voice rooms, speech input and other user-initiated voice features. During an active call, audio may continue when Mutopia is not visible so the call can continue.
- Camera: for user-initiated video calls and QR-code scanning.
- Photos, media, files or documents: only when the user selects content to open, attach, customize or share.
- Notifications: to alert the user to incoming calls, messages or relevant app activity.
- Network access: to connect trusted devices, deliver communications, verify purchases and download optional resources.
Permissions can be managed in the device settings. Denying a permission may prevent the related feature from working but does not prevent use of unrelated features.
5. How Information Is Used
Information is used only for purposes connected with operating and supporting Mutopia, including:
- Pairing trusted devices and maintaining trusted connections.
- Delivering private messages and establishing audio, video and workspace sessions.
- Providing presence, incoming-call and delivery-status functions.
- Transferring content that the user explicitly chooses to send.
- Providing local writing, memory, speech and on-device AI functions.
- Delivering optional AI models, books, audio and other downloadable resources.
- Processing purchases and restoring access to purchased features or content.
- Maintaining security, preventing abuse, troubleshooting failures and improving service reliability.
- Responding to support and privacy requests.
6. Messages, Calls, Workspaces and Sharing
Mutopia uses encrypted network connections and WebRTC technology for supported communications. Peer-to-peer connections are used where practical; network infrastructure such as signaling, STUN or TURN services may assist devices in discovering or connecting to each other. Audio and video are protected in transit by WebRTC security. SkySystem does not intentionally record or store the content of private calls on its servers.
Supported M Messages are designed to use end-to-end encryption so that message content can be read by the sender and intended recipient. When the user sends text, an image, a file or other content to another participant, the recipient can receive, save or further share that content. Users should communicate only with people they trust.
7. Local Data and On-device AI
Compositions, memory entries, local AI prompts and responses, contact customizations and downloaded AI model files are stored locally unless the user chooses to share or export them. Supported AI features can run on the device after the required model is downloaded. Removing Mutopia or clearing its app data may remove local content and downloaded resources from the device. Users should make their own backup of content they wish to preserve.
8. Downloads, Books and Other Content
When the user downloads an AI model, book, audio item or other resource, the hosting provider receives the network request and may process the user’s IP address and standard server-log information. Downloaded items are stored on the device until the user removes them, clears app data or uninstalls Mutopia, subject to the device operating system’s behavior.
9. Purchases
Purchases made through the Android version of Mutopia are processed by Google Play. Google handles payment information under its own terms and privacy practices. Mutopia may receive product, purchase-token, transaction-status and entitlement information needed to complete, verify or restore a purchase.
10. Service Providers
Mutopia may use service providers solely to operate app functions, including:
- Firebase and Google Cloud: signaling, presence and related service infrastructure.
- Google Play services and Google Play Billing: app distribution, platform functions, purchases and entitlement verification.
- Hosting, content-delivery and connectivity providers: optional resource downloads and network connection support.
These providers may process technical or service data on behalf of SkySystem or under their own applicable privacy terms. SkySystem does not authorize service providers to use Mutopia user data for their own behavioral advertising.
11. When Information May Be Shared
Information may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- With the recipient or workspace participant selected by the user.
- With service providers as necessary to operate the feature requested by the user.
- When required by applicable law, legal process or a valid governmental request.
- To protect users, SkySystem or the public from fraud, abuse, security threats or harm, where permitted by law.
12. Advertising and Sale of Data
SkySystem does not sell Mutopia user data. The current version of Mutopia does not contain behavioral-advertising SDKs and does not use personal content for targeted advertising.
13. Data Retention and Deletion
Local data remains on the device until the user deletes it through an available in-app control, clears Mutopia’s app data or uninstalls the app. Content already delivered to another participant is also controlled by that recipient and cannot necessarily be deleted from the recipient’s device by SkySystem.
Server-side signaling, presence, entitlement and technical records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for connection handling, service operation, troubleshooting, security, fraud or abuse prevention, legal compliance and protection of user rights. Records may be deleted or rotated periodically according to operational requirements and provider configuration.
Mutopia does not require an email-address or telephone-number account for its core trusted-connection features. To ask about deletion of information controlled by SkySystem, email e.smartdrive@gmail.com and include the app-generated identifier shown in Mutopia if available. SkySystem may retain limited information when required by law or when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or enforcement of legal rights.
14. Security
SkySystem uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted network transport where supported, restricted service access and local-first processing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Users should protect access to their devices and should not send sensitive information to people they do not trust.
15. Children’s Privacy
Mutopia is not directed to children under 13, and SkySystem does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information to SkySystem, they may contact us to request review and deletion.
16. International Processing
Mutopia is offered from Thailand and may rely on service providers operating in other countries. When network features are used, technical data may therefore be processed in countries other than the user’s country of residence, subject to applicable law and the safeguards used by the relevant provider.
17. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Mutopia’s features, service providers or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel when required.
